Providing financial advice to both individual and corporate clients has been the lifeblood of this long-established company for over 60 years. Due to the nature of their industry our remit was heavily orientated to provide an informative, professional website that focused on maintaining the company’s high street image whilst ensuring the company had the ability to enter social platforms and initiate an online audience. The new website had to incorporate a contemporary design with traditional aesthetics.
Radcliffe & Co dates to 1959 when its founder, Wyn Radcliffe, had an idea to establish an insurance brokerage in New Road, Southampton. Radcliffe & Co have now been in Southampton for 60 years.
The company has always had strong roots in Southampton being initially based in New Road, then Carlton Crescent and then on to Northam Road where the office was near the River Itchen. Our Finance Director, Darren Fulford recalls how “we had to save the files on a number of occasions due to flooding, it would be all hands-on deck, trousers rolled up!”
The business grew rapidly with many local client firms preferring the individual attention provided by Radcliffe & Co, something not offered by the national brokers. Many other local insurance professionals were interested in joining Radcliffe & Co, it is having become extremely reputable within the industry and there being the potential for successful futures within the organisation.
Our design team provided Radcliffe IFA with a clean, contemporary website that included a content dense overlay with minimal images to convey the professional environment in which they operate. From the first iteration it was obvious that a dedicated client login would be required, and this was presented as a prominent button on the homepage for existing and new clients to use when they visited the new site. To give the company an online authenticity, a dedicated partner page was deemed an important addition, in line with welcoming, relevant images to give a warm side to the website for their domestic clients. It was extremely important for Radcliffe IFA to be perceived as a local firm with traditional values yet able to provide a service on a national level. Our design team ensured that this was achieved by using images local to their area of operation whilst at the same time laying out the information in an informative, effortlessly digestible arrangement, for existing and new clients to make informed decisions when viewing their new website.
